"Some mystery should be left in the revelation of character in a play; just as a great deal of mystery is always left in the revelation of character in life, even in one's own character to himself."

- Tennessee Williams

These words of the great playwright resound within me and epitomise what it means to be an actress and an artist. The exploration of human nature and human relationships and the complexities of character are the driving force behind my work.

I always had a fascination with the human condition and that, combined with a love of language, poetry and expression through art; I found my calling to be an actress. I knew I had to hone my skills and work consistently at my craft at a very early age and that has led me on a journey that I know will continue throughout my work.

My main goal is to work within projects that strive to promote social change and an awareness through artistry. To tell stories that capture the heart of issues of importance and the relationships we have; both with each other and with ourselves.

I am grateful to the teachers I had at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, most notably George Loros (who himself trained with Lee Strasberg from 1966-1980 and Sanford Meisner from 1964-1966), Paul Calderon and Robert Castle for their direction, advice, support and valued tutelage.

This training, coupled with my previous experience at Langside College, The Oxford School of Drama and my beginning with Scottish Youth Theatre have enabled me to feel confident that I am on the right path as I endeavour to take my career to the next level, continuing to break new ground and develop in my work.

"True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist."

- Albert Einstein
